Update on Toler’s Cove

I just wanted to give everyone an update on where we are with landscaping, the pool and the Annex.

Landscaping is proceeding with the next phases.  Work will start today on refurbishing the lagoons in the front.  This will involve some demolition but not as much as the front.  Palm trees will be arriving tomorrow, and installation will begin.  I appreciate the patience of the owners who have had to wait on this phase getting started but I have been told it will be completed by the end of the month.

We will be adding up lighting to some of the trees around the lagoons which will enhance the overall appearance of the property as you enter.

At the same time, the Board approved the next phase, which is the mail kiosk area.  The board also approved to move forward on finishing the plans for the back lagoons and islands.  However, we will have to pause after the mail kiosk area phase until we rebuild the common area (non-structured) reserve funds to a level that will allow us to go forward.

We should have summer annual flowers planted next week in the entry area and this will give us some more color in the front.

The Annex is nearing completion. (Really, it is). There are some inspections to be completed but the construction side is just about finished.

The pool has been completely refurbished.  The overall appearance has been improved and the new tile looks great.  This was a project that started off modestly but turned into a major revamp. However, we shouldn’t have to worry about the pool shell for some time.  We had to remove four layers of plaster before we could re-plaster the pool shell.  Needless to say, this was a very expensive and time-consuming project.  Thank you to the residents who live around the pool for having to put up with the jack hammering over a couple of weeks.

I want to thank our Board for their efforts and especially Johnny Disher, who has been running the landscaping project.

Thank you,

Jay Waddell, Board President
